The Special Exhibitions and Events Gallery, Hong Kong Maritime Museum (Central Pier No. 8, Hong Kong)
Brief:
Born in Hong Kong more than a century ago, Alec Michael John Wright (1912-2018) witnessed both the adversity and prosperity of this city. As a senior government architect, he was instrumental to the post-war public architecture which shaped Hong Kong’s unique cityscape and spatial experience.
Urban Diary is honoured that Mr. Michael Wright shared with us his story in London a few years ago, which enabled us to produce "The Wright Chronicle". Mr. Wright, aged 105, passed away in London on 26 January 2018. While we mourn his death, we are certain that his stories and deeds will be fondly remembered.
