It is proposed by Hong Kong Cycling Alliance.
The alliance suggests turning the waterfront between Kennedy Town and Sai Wan Ho into a cycleway.
Advantage of cycleway:
It offers rapid journeys between local districts.
From Central ferry piers to Wanchai north – five minutes
From Kennedy Town to Central – 10 minutes
From North Point to Sai Wan Ho – seven minutes
Key features of the cycleway:
Cadogan Street Temporary Garden in Kennedy Town: Turing the part of the park into a bicycle hire and maintenance facility, becoming the start/end of the full harbourfront cycleway.
Sheung Wan waterfront: Relocate the Water Supplies Department’s small building, and broaden the road for cycleway.
Central ferry piers: Setting up bicycle parking facilities at the area.
Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter: Cycleway will greatly facilitate access to the Noon-day Gun, a much underused attraction.
