What do you like the most about Hong Kong?
“We have no natural disasters in Hong Kong. There are no earthquakes or tsunami. We have typhoons but no matter how powerful they’re said to be, they never seriously threaten or damage Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a blessed city. I’ve been to many places but I like Hong Kong the best. It is my home – my family and friends are here.”
What do you dislike the most about Hong Kong?
“The absence of universal suffrage. We can’t decide government policies. We’re denied the right to choose the person we like to be the Chief Executive of our city.”
What does Hong Kong have to do to be sustainable?
“Hong Kong should diversify its economy. We used to have a manufacturing industry. There were many factories. Now, we only have property and finance. The younger generation has few options when it comes to employment. Because of this absence of choice for the working population, wages are actually lower than decades ago. Disposable incomes are now lower than what they were before.”
