Sau-ping: Storyteller

Sau-ping: Storyteller
Date: 23 September 2014
Excerpt:
Wong Sau-ping is a seelai (middle-aged housewife) and a storyteller. This story-telling seelai often jokes that she hardly ventured beyond Stone Nullah Lane and Queen's Road East in the first 30 years of her life. Because her life has been closely-knitted with Wan Chai, she uses her experience and the myths she has gathered over the years to give the younger generation an idea of what life was like in Wan Chai in previous decades.
